A Little Maine, With Claws

For the ones who would rather be somewhere near salt water.

These lobster earrings turn my original artwork into tiny pieces of dimensional art, with a raised lobster layered over its engraved counterpart and framed in gold rope.

Go classic red. Choose rare blue. Or wear one of each because apparently choosing a lobster is where you draw the line.

Bold, highly detailed, and entirely Painted Raina.

✨ Styling Guide

• Wear red with black, cream, navy, or denim.
• Let blue do something unexpected against black or jewel tones.
• Choose mismatched when matching feels tragically well behaved.
• Keep the necklace simple and let the lobsters have the room.

For lobster people, Maine people, coastal souls, and anyone who knows exactly where they’d rather be.

Pick your lobster. Wear the coast.

LORE FROM THE DEEP

The Lucky Blue Lobster

The sea has always come with superstitions.

Among the stranger bits of maritime lore is the blue lobster: an extraordinarily rare creature that some fishermen have regarded as a very good omen. One account from Gespeg tells of fishermen who believed their blue lobster promised a safe and plentiful fishing season.

I can get behind that kind of superstition.

So the blue version of these earrings carries a little more than an unexpected color. Think of it as a tiny talisman for good fortune, safe passage, and whatever you’re hoping the tide brings in next.

No guarantees from the universe, obviously.

But I’d wear the lobster.

the details

Materials, light, and the studio process — clearly outlined.

Handmade & Made to Order

Every Painted Raina piece is assembled by hand after purchase. Almost all designs are original and laser cut in my Wisconsin studio using specialty acrylics selected for their depth and light interaction. Studio production is intentionally limited.

Production typically takes 2–7 days, depending on complexity. Nothing is pulled from bulk inventory — your piece is built to order.

Designed to stand out. Built to last.

Color & Finish Variation

Each piece is handmade, and slight variations are part of the process — especially with specialty acrylics.

Many materials are chosen specifically for their luminosity and light-shifting qualities. Color and finish may transform depending on lighting conditions and screen settings. Some finishes glow, some deepen, some flash in sunlight.

That dimensionality is intentional.

Materials & Hardware

Pieces are crafted using specialty acrylics curated for clarity, color architecture, and light response.

Findings include nickel-free stainless steel, plated metals, and sterling silver options. Multiple ear wire styles — hooks, leverbacks, studs, and clip-ons — are available.

Quality hardware matters.

Weight & Wearability

Earrings range from feather-light to lightweight but noticeable, depending on design complexity. Statement necklaces are engineered to feel substantial while remaining wearable — typically light for their size to medium weight.

You’ll feel the presence. Not the burden.

Shipping & Returns Details

Orders typically leave the studio within about one week. Shipping is handled via USPS, UPS, or FedEx and includes insurance up to $100. International shipping is available.

Returns are accepted within 30 days for non-custom pieces, provided they are unworn and in original condition. Custom pieces are final sale. Buyers are responsible for return shipping unless carrier damage is verifiable.
